Fascia, soffit and cladding cleaning in Guildford
Fascia and soffit cleaning in Guildford is the job people book when they realise the white plastic on the house is not white any more. uPVC was sold as maintenance free, and it does not rot, but it does go grey with traffic film and green with algae, especially on the north side and under the gutters. We wash it back to white from the ground, along with cladding and render.
The fascia is the board the gutter hangs on. The soffit is the underside that closes the eaves. Between them they frame the whole roofline, so when they are dirty the house looks tired from the road however clean the windows are. Streaks under every gutter joint mean the gutter is overflowing there; green patches on the soffit mean the air under the eaves stays damp. Both come off.
We use the same pure water pole system as for windows, with a brush that reaches the roofline on most houses from the ground. Rinsed with pure water, the uPVC dries clean with nothing left on it and nothing to attract the dirt back. Guttering is cleared first if it needs it, because washing the outside of a blocked gutter does not last.
Render and uPVC cladding are done the same way, and we quote them with the fascias and soffits so the whole front of the house comes up together. Painted and timber cladding, and commercial cladding on larger buildings, are a different job and sit on our industrial and specialist cleaning page.
Signs the roofline needs a wash
Look up from the road. The fascia is the first thing a visitor sees and the last thing anyone cleans.
Grey streaks running down the fascia under every gutter joint
Green algae on the soffits and along the north side of the house
Render that has gone green or black under the windows
uPVC cladding that has dulled since it went up
How we clean fascias and soffits
The same four steps whether it is a bungalow roofline or three storeys of cladding.
Step 1: Look first, then quote
Send a photo or ask Patrick to call round. He agrees a fixed price for the fascias, soffits and anything else you want done with them.
Step 2: Gutters first
If the gutters are blocked they are cleared first, so the overflow that stained the fascia stops.
Step 3: Wash from the ground
The pole brush works along the fascia and under the soffit, then everything is rinsed with pure water so it dries clean.
Step 4: Check, tidy, text
We look along the roofline before we leave and take any debris with us. If anything is missed, tell us within three days and we come back free.
Why Guildford homeowners book us for the roofline
It is a job that gets left because it needs a long pole and a head for heights. We have the pole and keep our feet on the ground.
Fixed price, never paid in advance. Patrick agrees the price before we start. You pay when the job is done and you are happy with it.
No ladders against your fascia. Poles reach the roofline on most houses from the ground. Where a platform is needed there is a risk assessment first and £5m public liability behind the team.
Free re-clean within three days. If a run of fascia or a soffit has been missed, tell us within three days and we come back free of charge.
Done with the gutters and windows. Fascias, soffits, gutters and windows on one visit, so the whole front of the house comes up together.

Also covering: Farnborough, Godalming, Farnham, Aldershot, Fleet, Frimley, Ash, Cranleigh, Weybridge, Cobham, Leatherhead, Dorking and the villages between. See all areas.
Common questions about fascia, soffit and cladding cleaning
Cost, how often, ladders and what counts as a clear.
How much does fascia and soffit cleaning cost?
It depends on the length of the roofline, how many storeys and whether the gutters need clearing first. Send a photo of the house and Patrick will give you a fixed price. You pay once the job is done.
Can you clean render?
Yes. Green and black algae on render comes off with the same pole system and a pure water rinse. We quote it with the fascias and soffits so the whole front of the house is done together.
Do you clean cladding?
uPVC cladding on houses, yes, with the fascias and soffits. Timber, cedar and commercial cladding on larger buildings is a different job and sits on our industrial and specialist cleaning page.
Why are there streaks under the gutter joints?
Because the gutter is overflowing at that joint, usually from a blockage. We clear the gutter first, then wash the fascia, so the streak does not come back with the next rain.
